Ticketing for live events like music, theater, and sports is very different from other types of online booking.

Ticketing for Events vs Online Booking

When it comes to most online booking industries, consumers choose their platform. For example, consumers can buy airline tickets on a dozen different websites.

Airlines work with multiple booking companies, and any major booking company can access tickets from all major airlines. Consumers can plan their trip on whichever booking site they prefer.

Ticketing for live events like music, theater, and sports is very different from other types of online booking. There are many primary ticketing platforms, but organizers usually sell tickets through one platform. Consumers (i.e. fans) can find an event through word of mouth, an organizer’s platform, or an event-aggregator like facebook. However, consumers don’t usually interact with a ticketing platform until checkout. Since fans don’t pick their ticketing platform, these platforms spend their resources beefing up their offerings to organizers, which can hurt fans’ experiences.

Foria can’t change this structure overnight, but we are building the platform fans would choose to use. Here’s why:

Foria is Fighting Scammers and Scalpers

Foria plans to convert the entire ticketing industry to a fan-centered model, where fraud and scalping are little more than memories.

Foria started when a group of fans decided they had enough getting ripped off or straight up robbed when purchasing tickets to their favorite events. They put their minds together to create a system that can not be taken advantage of by scammers or scalpers.

The concept is simple: Foria created a closed environment where any initial purchase, transfer, resale, or redemption must happen through Foria’s platform. Scammers cannot make fake tickets because Foria’s tickets are dynamic and continuously verified in the mobile app. Scalpers are cut off because Foria closely tracks transfers to ensure authenticity and enables organizers to limit resale prices. Foria is the exclusive destination for all resales to Foria events, so fans can expect an active market-not just a safe one.

Foria is Transparent

Fees in the ticketing industry are notoriously high and growing. While fees generally reflect real costs, ticketing platforms often hide details from fans and tack on large fees on the final checkout screen. Foria customers will have the option to dissect any fee to learn its purpose.

Overall, Foria is able to offer lower fees than other ticketing platforms because it controls the primary and secondary markets for all Foria events.

To further promote good financial practices, Foria will offer special status to organizers that pass zero fees on to the fans.

Foria Helps Organizers Earn More Without Raising Costs for Fans

Foria plans to convert the entire ticketing industry to a fan-centered model, where fraud and scalping are little more than memories. To manifest a fan-focused future, Foria partners with organizers who share its vision. However, it isn’t merely Foria’s vision that draws organizers.

In addition to the many benefits Foria provides fans, Foria is also an ideal partner for organizers. Before Foria, organizers had no control over ticket resales, which were dominated by scalpers. With Foria, organizers can finally control the resale market for their events. To support their effort against scalpers, Foria offers organizers an opportunity to earn commission on every resale.

To become accessible for every fan, Foria ensures that organizers are incentivized to use its platform.
